- Pan line: Detects Plasmodium lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH), an enzyme found in all Plasmodium species, including P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae.
Test type: It is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay, also known as a rapid diagnostic test (RDT), delivered in a cassette format.
Sample type: The test can be performed using a small amount of whole blood, which can be collected via a finger prick at the point of care.
